I never pick all four #1 seeds making it to the Final Four (it’s only happened once), but I think this year is as good as any for that to happen; however, West Virginia, Villanova & Ohio St/Georgetown may very well slip into final weekend.

For possibly the very first time ever, measurable snow fall could be on the ground in all 50 states at the same time. 

 Patrick Marsh, a student employee at NOAA’s National Severe Storms Laboratory in Norman, Ok, predicts the reach of this record breaking season. 

Snow on the mountain tops of Hawaii and in the Panhandle of Florida could be a record setting event that not even Al Gore could have predicted. 

The snowfall in northwest Florida would be the region’s second significant snow since 1977.

Other places around the South expected to see unusual amounts of snow include Atlanta, with downtown expecting to receive 5 inches.  Hartsfield – Jackson Airport, the nation’s busiest airport, has seen a significant amount of airline cancellations and delays.

 Just this past Tuesday in Sandusky, OH, Deborah McDonald, 47, won $5,520 in the Ohio lottery.  That same evening McDonald was hit by a car and died while walking home from a bar after celebrating her winnings with friends and family.

Abraham Shakespeare of Plant City, Fla. is a 2006 lottery winner of $31 million, but opted for the lesser lump sum amount of $11 million.  In May 2007, Shakespeare was sued by a former co-worker, Mike Ford, who claimed Shakespeare stole his winning lottery ticket.  In April 2009, Shakespeare was reported missing.  On Thursday, body remains were discovered that are believed to be Shakespeare’s.

Across the pond, Stuart Donnelly became a millionaire at the young age of 17. Earlier this week, 12 years post winnings, Donnelly was found dead in his home in southwest Scotland at the age of 29.

The apparent bad luck, death and misfortune that have over shadowed some former lottery winners are not only just left to be heard on cable news stories or articles read on the internet.  Primetime Sci-Fi shows have incorporated them as intricate details into overall plot and storylines.

In the hit series ‘Lost,’ Hurley’s character has been laden with bad luck since he won $156 million from the lottery using a series of cursed numbers: 4 8 15 16 23 42.  Come on, you know the numbers.

Is life imitating art or is art imitating life?

Tim Tebow is being dissected and challenged this week by two completely diverse groups, NFL coaches and the Women’s Media Center.  The latter group is make headlines from their reaction to CBS allowing a paid commercial from Focus on the Family.

Pam Tebow, mother of Tim, will share her personal story of triumph during her pregnancy with Tim.  Mrs. Tebow went against advice from doctors to abort her baby because of severe complications during her pregnancy. 

Women’s Media Center claims CBS’ acceptance of an advocacy ad during the Super Bowl^® goes against CBS’ policy and questions how it can allow an anti-abortion ad to air on such an enormous stage.  Last year, an estimated 98 million people watched the Super Bowl.

If the group is pro-choice, shouldn’t they respect the fact that Mrs. Tebow made her choice?

Do the Tebows have the right to tell their story in a paid advertisement in front of a global audience?  Where is the line?
